Hey all,

Hopefully quick question. Wife and I are ordering a Q5, and we'd really like to have the advanced key option. We also live in MI, where we have snow 4 months out of the year. How will an aftermarket remote start integrate with the Q5? Is it better to have only one or the other? Is there a starter company that can integrate the two functions? Thanks in advance

 

I ASSumed I would get a remote start on our May, 2011 P+ as I've had remote starts on all my cars the last decade ! Surely a newer car like this will benefit from it to cool down on our hot Texus days !!!

So far, WRONG !!!! Will revisit within the next few weeks to prepare our black Q5 with pana roof for the hot summer days.

Even spoke to Directed corporate at the time and they did not have an interface for it..

 

Yeah, I found the same thing. 1) Couldn't believe it wasn't a factory option. 2) Couldn't believe that there was not an aftermarket solution.

I ended up ordering the advanced key anyway, as I think that the benefits will outweigh the added cost of an interface module when they are available.

 

The remote starts function need to add extra $700?
i heard from the dealer.

 

I just puchased a Q5 and I was thinking the same thing. But considering vehicle will not start unless the smartkey is within a certain distance, will the remote start still work?

 

did anyone figure out how to get remote start working?
