Not to start a riot or anything, but I really would like to hear why you feel this car is superior. I haven't owned a BMW or an Audi before and have only really invested in finding out about the X3 up to this point. Besides the looks, can you give me other examples of why you chose or love this car?

Both are good cars but widespread opinion seems to be that Quattro is superior to xDrive. Styling is subjective, but to me the Q5 is far better looking. And like any car, both will have their issues, but for one, my sister-in-law had an X3 and traded it away after numerous minor issues and an electrical system failure that left her and my 2-year-old nephew stranded.

Drive both and see which "fits" you better. And remember, interior design and ergonomics should play a big factor in your choice since 99% of the time it's the interior that you experience.

Quattro is far better than BMW's antiquated xdrive. The interior fit, finish, materials, feel, ergonomics, looks, etc are far superior to the BMW (this applies to all Audi vs. BMW comparo's). Personally, I think the X3 is fugly but looks are a subjective thing.

the q5 looks nicer, better gas mileage and there's too many bad old lady drivers who have x3's --- gives me a bad image of them
