2008 4.2 q7
Hello, I'm looking at a 2008 Q7 4.2 with 75K miles. I've driven it a couple times and it seems to be in great condition. I've never owned an Audi. I'd like to get an understanding from owners of this car about overall reliability. If this car is/has been maintained well, how many more miles might we expect to add on? Just trying to figure out if what is being asked for this car is worth it given where it's at in its lifespan. Thanks for any insight.

I've owned many Audis and VWs over the years (still do) and I've found them to be quite reliable if maintained properly. I have an 07 Q7 4.2 and so far it has been solid as a rock. Search this forum and others, and you will see repeat issues for things like the leaking panoramic roofs, MMI issues caused by the leaking roofs, transmission issues, and some electrical gremlins. Keep in mind that most people don't post how great their Q7 is, they only post when there are problems. So what you read does not represent the general population out there. Maintenance is key to Audis lasting a long time. I've had older A8s in the 150k mile range and still ran and drove almost like new. Consider having a pre-purchase inspection performed on the Q7 your looking at by a qualified technician...it is well worth the cost.
