Guys, gals, please forgive me, I'm not an Audi TT owner, I'm a Parts Manager at a dealership. We got in a 2000 Audi TT that had high miles, and had definitely been mis-treated. Since it was a TT we decided to retail it, and are now having problems.

The car came with HID's, but the new owner noticed that the drivers side headlight was yellow, while the passenger side was blue. It appears the car had been wrecked, and upon replacing the drivers side headlamp assy, they people who fixed it put a non-hid assy in. Here we go.

I priced a new HID headlamp assy from a dealer at $1,000, but the used car sales manager wasn't having it, so I purchased one off of ebay for $420.

The headlamp installed and worked ok, but a few weeks later the light went out. One of our techs diagnosed it as the ballast because the Xenon light itself will work in the other side.

I need to find a ballast that will work in the Left (Drivers) side of this headlamp assy. Does anyone know how I can get one?

Please forgive me for joining the club just to ask this question, but I had no choice, no one has been able to help me, not even the dealer. They did tell me that the ballast itself was changed in '01, but can't tell me if an '01 ballast will work in an '00 or not.
