Can someone please tell me where the fan control module for the 2001 TT 1.8 is located at? I have been told it is under the battery and that I would have to go underneath to remove it.

The car is overheating and the fans are not coming on. I was told if I remove the #16 fuse and the fans come on it is the fan control module. Is this true?
