Default 2002 tt

Hello,

Okay so I brought my car and it only came with one key, I lost that one, got a new one that is laser cut but not yet programed. When I try to start my car with the it starts for 2 seconds then cut back off. Can anyone tell me how to program just the key not the remote. I only have one key (with remote attached) and I'm seeing a lot of people say you need two keys but from my understanding they're trying to program the remote rather than just the key as I am. Is this possible to do myself? Please help, the dealership is trying to charge me a fortune as well as to get my car towed there.

Bring your registration to the dealer. Your vehicle ID and a new key should cost around $125. That's what I paid. A new key with remote costs around $240.
