Default 2004 225 Coupe - Read CD Changer

The rear CD Changer has become inop and unrecognized by the audio system. The single CD player within the radio works.

Help?

All I can tell you is that the most common cause is the CD changer itself has failed. It is possible there is a wiring problem (open, short, etc) but that's very rare. You should check for power and ground at the changer, and continuity of the other wires from the changer to the radio first, just to be sure.

You can do sort of a quick check by doing the following:
turn the radio off
press and hold the MODE button and turn the radio on
realease the MODE button
If it says "CONNECT" and "CD", the wiring is OK
If it says "NO CDC" it could be a possible wiring problem (a bad CD changer will show the same NO CDC message also)

Bumping this up again, as I would like to tear into it finally. If the changer must come out, can someone post the removal process? I'm sure its complex and thats ok, just dont want to do it wrong.
