3.2 Cost?
i wouldnt do it because with the money and time you will spend doing the swap you could build a 1.8...
I dont know if the motor is a direct swap but if it isnt you are looking at fabrication of mounts and making a harness for the ecu. If you are not able to do these things you have to pay someone. That puts you at the cost of the motor plus labor. Then you have an NA motor... From there you would have to spend money on FI stuff. Would you turbo it or go with a centrifugal blower? does someone make a kit or would you have to fabricate it? Then you have to consider cost of that... I doubt that the stock block of a vr6 can handle much over 300whp. maybe... if it can it wouldnt be much more than that. There is just no point to it besides being "unique" lol
if you are able to do it all on your own give it a try. If not.... dont even consider it.

A 3.2 swap is the most direct, and dare I say "easy" engine swap you can do to our cars. Lets not forget that the 3.2 is already in the MKI TT, R32, and some Jetta's/Golf's. I would source the INT. for wrecked 3.2 TT's and R32's to get the engine, ECU, Cluster, Trans, and wiring harness that you'll need to do the swap. Get a custom exhaust, and source your self the FI kit you desire.
To cover all your bases I would still check to see how much you'd get on a trade in towards a 3.2 TT, payments/ insurance increase and don't for get a little less MPG's. Do the same comparison with the street value, and make your decision from there.
The lure of a supercharged 3.2 under the hood of my TT is great. I'm not looking to break any records of HP, race Subi's & EVO's or even go for the obscure and unique. I just want what I want, the smooth power, sound, and tunned performance that the TT deserves.

That's what I was thinking the swap seems easy. I'm really not trying to look like other TT's I would like to stick out more. Mines right now is worth about $18,500 I would sell private for $20k (maybe). I keep looking up 3.2 TT for sale & normally it's in the 18k to 31k range & it seems no one wrecks this car... wtf? So rather if I bought a 3.2 then it comes down to rebuilding the 3.2 to look & feel like mine. But the people who bought 3.2 how did they swap the auto for a 6-speed? Cause I need a clutch petal.
the swap is very easy, i have several under my belt already....not into tt's but into various mk4 cars. I have sold alot of the conversions as well, i may be coming into another soon also. Should be around the 7k range. If you can swing it i say do it. the vr is always gonna be better than the 1.8t. more torque and actually streetablewith big power. also the vrtransmission has a much taller ratio. Believe me i really ratherdoany vr6 in my tt but it seems that the shop needs to make a badass transverse 1.8t. so im stuck with my AMU.
