About two weeks ago my car was sounding terrible when it was idling, I didn't notice anything wrong when driving it but the noise was under the hood and sounded almost like baseball cards in bike spokes at it idled. I played around and the noise quit when I pulled the temp adjust and shut off the fan. Now, the sound is gone, and the AC doesn't work. Obviously, the AC shut down for whatever reason.
I am wondering if anyone has any advice on what may have happened and how it can be fixed. Anything helps.

 

I'm pretty sure your secondary air pump (SAI) failed, but not sure why it took out the ac. The noise you were hearing (I'm guessing it was a howling or sounded like a bad belt) was the pump failing.
