Alignment Issues
So I was chewing through tires on the front of my car. I ordered new tires and got it aligned. Its still just eating through the tires on the inside of the tire. Last time i was at the dealership they told me it was something to do with the suspension but i forgot what it was. My plan is to order the parts and take it to the local german shop so ill save myself some money since im having to by new tires for the 2nd time.
Have you lowered your tt. I know that with it lowered the rear camber will not be correct without a camber kit. the front should be fine might be difficult to get into correct alingment but it is possible. im runnung kw varient 1 coilovers on mine and i did the alingment myself.
no doubt the a-arm bushings are getting tired at that milage. Mine were. TTStuff.com has the powerflex bushings taht I'd recommend, and theres a guy that posts here on occasion who sells DEFCON bushings, which are more of a retrofit to the old pre-recall bushing size. Bushings aren't dangerous, it was an issue with stupid drivers, and a rear that would float a bit at high speed. Either way would be a good upgrade, and not too expensive.
Yeah After I bought my TT a while back it was doing the same thing. Turns out the dealership said it had a "Bent I Beam" ??? Yepp... how that happened I have no idea I havent looked to see for my self but ive never heard of an "I beam" .. Perhaps a lower control arm or a frame rail???? But needless to say they can not allign my car now till its fixed to the tune of 2k dollars. So i doubt thats your problem but thats what mine was when i kept chewing through tires.

Its wasn't stupid drivers, it was that the suspension settings and the fact that the early TTs had no ducktail. As you see on the left car, when air goes over a downward-curved surface (TT hatch w/o a spoiler), it creates vacuum, causing rear lift. The lack of rear downforce was probably the main cause of the accidents because when someone lifted throttle going 120 on the Autobahn, the rear floated and allowed snap-oversteer. Audi not only added the spoiler, but they also changed the front steering bushings, they changed the rear ARB from 19mm to 14mm, and they added negative rear toe.

if they had recommened your front upper strut mount bushings that is a normal repairs. those bushings do wear out and could cause some tire issures. i find that any tt tends to tear up tires anyway if you go with a cheaper tire.
