alignment issues...
I own a 1998 A4 2.8 Quattro. i've been having some problems with my front tires wearing on the inner edge. I took it to the shop to have an alignment done and this was my result: "we can't perform the alignment because the camber on the passenger front wheel is off too far" (the top of the tire is leaning in too far....not sure if this is considered + or - camber). they said their equipment wasn't capable of doing the alignment when it was that far off. they suggested another shop that i could take my car to. i stopped in there to speak to one of the mechanics. he told me that it could possibly need a camber adjustment kit in order to correct the problem, but that i could bring it in on friday morning to put it on the machine and find out...
I have never heard of a camber adjustment kit for my car....and ironically enough, neither has the local Audi dealership. So i'm trying to figure out what could cause the alignment to be so far off. The vehicle has stock wheels and suspension and I have recently replaced the upper control arms and the two front axle's a few months back.
Can anyone offer any advice on what could be causing this problem? I also recall reading a posting somewhere that had a pretty good breakdown of how the alignment and I believe it said that there is not a true camber adjustment on our vehicles. i tried finding it again to see if ti could offer any help, but had no luck. any help would be GREATLY appreciated

read that...you may have some idea of how it works.

i checked the control arms....they seem to be in good shape. im thinking that if one was bent enough to throw the alignment off that bad, it would be visible upon examination, but i could be wrong.
thanks for the link to the post on audizine...i have a much better understanding of how the system works now. im not going to make any adjustments myself since i dont have the equipment (or knowledge) to do a full alignment myself. the shop will look at it on friday morning and perhaps i will print the DIY from audizine and bring it with me. thanks for all the help...
also...has anyone purchased the lower door moldings from ecs tuning? if you did...did they come with the small white clips that are mounted on the door? im missing a few of them and couldnt find them being sold separately anywhere else.
