another chip question
Ok, I haven't had my tt long and it already had a good bit of stuff done to it when I got it ( like an exhaust and dv) but it didn't have a boost gauge so I bought one and I'm running 10psi and spiking at around12 ( its a 180) so I decided to get it chipped. Well I got a call today from the people I sent it to and they said its already chipped, but they couldn't tell who chipped it. Anyway, I know some companies have different modes so I was hoping you guys could tell me how to switch between modes? Thank you, and sorry it was so long.

RE: another chip question
Well i think it would depend on what chip it is to determine how to switch the mode. GIAC has a plug in that changes modes and I think APR can change the mode using the windshield wiper *** thingy. I think it can??

RE: another chip question
why dont you contact the previous owner and get some more details on what he did to it? i dunno about where you are, but here we can get a vehicle information package, and cotained are all the registered owners the car ever had (thats if u cannot contact the guy who did work to it)

RE: another chip question
To find out if its an APR chip, try this:
Turn the key but dont start the engine. Then hold down the button on the end of the cruise control stalk. The check engine light will blink once per second to indicate program 1, if you keep holding it it will switch to twice per second to indicate program 2 and so on. then start the engine. It will be in the program specified. whichever one you let go of the button during. Normally 1 is stock mode but it could have been done however.

RE: another chip question
If it was done by GIAC then you would have to purchase a flashloader or better yet find out your local GIAC dealer go down there and ask them if they can just hook a flashloader up to your port and test it to see if its a giac program. If it is, then they make a sale and you buy a flashloader. If not then you will just have to find out who did your re-flashing. If that was what was done, if its a chip thats in there, you will have to pull your ECU and take a look at it.
