Didn't get much of a response on Vortex so I'm asking over here
Did a 3rd gear pull dyno run last night on flat road and I got 236hp/240tq, my mods:
EVO intake, APR 93 flash, Jetex exhaust and Iridium plugs if you call that a mod.
Just wanna see how bad/good my ALMS is doing compared to other 225/180q's out there

hmmm.. could be low for an alms? might just be me though... especially with the 93 flash i feel like you should see more, but at the same time it is coming from the liquidtt read out...

i was wondering about this as well because my tt will only max out at 180hp and 180tq. i dont understand why but havent had time to look into it. no matter what i do it is always 180 unless i do a part throttle run. mine is a 180ttq with the original kinetic k04-001 "super K04" 3" DP/Forge exhaust, 380 injectors, intercooler that works so well it wont let the car warm up past the second notch, unless standing still, 10lb flywheel spec stage 4 clutch, giac software, turbo xs mbc 21 psi
I'm make believe
it bases everything off the maf. If you have changed it or its dirty or dont do the test just right, it will give you numbers way off. Its a toy, not a real assesment

I does, indeed, base HP and TQ readings off the MAF. I contend it is far from a "toy" though. As with any instrument, garbage in = garbage out, but with a good MAF, it should be pretty accurate. Dyno numbers are ALL subject to accuracy debate, and they cost $100k or more. For a few hundred bucks, I think it does a pretty darn good job.

what does it being an alms have anything to do with it? because it has different wheels and a different colored interior it should make more hp than a regular 225? i didnt know that stuff made a car faster.Originally Posted by theTTkid

anyway every time i did it in my tt i showed anywhere from 220 to 230. My car is a 225q with a cone filter and exhaust. I have a lot of stuff at my apt waiting to go on i just dont like to be cold while i work on my car so im prob going to wait until spring. I would say you numbers are pretty accurate though. You should maybe be a little higher considering what you have done to it but as said the liquid runs every feature off the ecu so it wont be 100% accurate.

Come on the ALMS came with an extra whooping 1hp Originally Posted by myslow1

What can be done to clean the MAF correctly? And is that plastic grid/screen in the MAF necessary?
Senior Member
I believe there's something on cleaning the MAF in the TT FAQ sticky under "Jeff B how to page"
As far as that screen I think it equal outs the air flow
