You can get the 180 to 225 performance but it will take some money to do so and you might as well start out with the TT 225 and build up from there.

RE: AWD vs FWD?
I have owned high horsepower FWD, AWD and RWD vehicles. My favorite is RWD followed by AWD and FWD last. That being said they can all be a ton of fun to drive and I personally have a FWD TT because the price was very, very right. At the end of the day decide which setup is going to meet your needs and fit in the budget.

RE: AWD vs FWD?
Well I love the AWD, I do not want another FWD ever! My GTP is too squirlly and I am limited to about 98mph on 45mph posted corners, whereas the AWD I can easily do at 120. True there is more factors that come in to play between the two, but AWD grabs all the time! Even tho in 2nd I can break them loose on dry pavement, torque steer is not an issue. Plus, in the snow, drifting in parking lots and roads as amazingly fun!

my car is light as hell and will be much more when I have time the shed another 150lbs. Plus lag is ur friend with fwd. Plus I enjoy the extra few mpg. I will be running 9" wide wheels also. The fwd still does well in rain and snow.

I drove a 225Q roadster once. The dealer was really cool (he was hung over too...he was happy to have me pull him from the dealership). What I liked about Quattro was being able to launch however I wanted without worrying about squealing tires in the middle of town. I also liked how I could launch hard while turning onto a road without getting any wheelspin. But when I took it to a twisty (where lots of people wreck) and started ripping, the handling didn't really seem any better than my car. It started understeering and squealing the tires about the same way my FWD would.

If you're looking to do a big turbo conversion, just start with a 180. Why pay thousands extra for a car with a turbo setup you won't use?
