Default Beginner Mods

i have spent a few hours reading around now. thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

1. Rims are 5x100 from what i have read. How wide should they be? (or whats the max)

2. Is there a tire size chart? im just wondering what the heights need to be for 17s and 18s to keep the speedo and everything right.

3. I think i will be fine on the strut spring combo found http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/...;productID=959 what other things will i need with drop like that, i was reading about chambers kits.

4. What are some good websites for TT parts? i like ttstuff.com so far

5. K&N drop in filter is a good mod compared to a intake price wise?

6. With the OSIR Design-Mantis gauge pod, why is it measure in MM? im assuming thats the size gauges it holds but all gauges are measure in inches. and it only has 60mm models left so what size pods would i need?

7. What are the 2 most crutial gauges i would want to put in the pod?

8. How does this begining mod list sound?
-K&N Drop in
-42 DD DP and Borla cat back
-Forge DV 007
-Front and back slotted rotors
-OSIR Mantis gauge pod
-Then the wicked euro plate :P

We need spell check!

First off check the FAQ stickied at the top of the TT section. A chip for the ecu would be the first thing I would do. FMIC are very straight forward and IMO the hardest part (if you are good with handtools and are somewhat mechanically inclined) is taking off the bumper for the first time. Forge, and APR make good front mounts. It is pretty easy to get the reflector out of the headlight. I would advise doing this when you do a FMIC because you need to have the bumper off to get to the headlights. http://www.wak-tt.com/ This link is really helpful and it has good diy's for bumper removal and reflector delete. (4) Our cars run with DV(diverter valves) these are recirculating valves that put the air back into the system rather than blow it out to the atmosphere. Forge makes a splitter that is both a BOV/DV. There is also a BOV from HKS that some people are running I dont know too much about it.

#1 most important gauge to get first is boost/vac.

Chip before any other mod.

Suspension before up-sizing wheels.

Ditch the Mantis, horrible gauge placement and over priced...better things to spend your money on. Don't waste time on the K&N drop in, replace it with an open element filter.

1. Chip/DV/Boost Gauge

This is a good first mod route....best bang for the buck. Doing this at once should run around $750 if the DV and gauge are bought new.
