Hey guys I need some help with this.. I replaced my compressor from a low mileage, salvaged 01 beetle compressor for $150. I bolted it all back up and plugged the connectors in, had a shop pull vacuum on the system (which it held for 30 mins,) charged it up, went to turn it on and nothing. The clutch never kicked in, so obviously no cold air was coming out. I checked the fuses and they were all fine. I did a quick voltage test and there was juice coming out of the female harness end. Is the wiring on the 01 Beetle reversed? The plug snapped right into place since there is only one way it goes on, yet there seems to be no juice to engage the clutch.

 

All the compressors are the same but some have a different connector.

 

Did you check the fuses in the box on top of the battery?

 

Yeah I checked the fuses on top of the battery and they were fine. Is there any sort of bently manual online for the TT? Even though the compressor plugged right into the harness, are the wires reveresed on the compressor side?

 

Also, could I connect a direct 12v source to the compressor and see if the clutch engages?
