bought some radio keys and still wont come out. any thoughts? one key stays in and locks and when i pull that side of the radio starts to come out... however, the key on the other side just falls out... doesnt lock in place. could it be something is broken on the inside so it wont catch?

easiest answer is to buy another TT.. you probably wont have problems with the radio then.

 

Take the radio out, so you can see just how the keys ingage. Maybe you're not hooked into the locking tab correctly.

theres some seriousness to it though, try working the key around a bit, it may be as simple as you're not hitting the spring clip in there right.

 

I went to my local stereo shop, took their keys, and we could not get the deck out at all, so I drove 230 miles away to a dealer, with dealer keys, and it came out, they locked in a lot better than the aftermarket ones the stereo shop had. Yanked the stereo out, and replaced my hazard switch, popped it back in, and now it needs to come out again since a seat heater switch pushed into the dash [:@] Ohwell, starting tomorrow I should be living 12 miles from a dealer!

So maybe try dealer keys?

i got the keys from 42DD... they both pop in and stick in... however, when i start to pull the radio out one key just gives way and flies out... so it doesnt lock
