Cassette tape is stuck and won't eject!!???

I put a tape in and it plays fine but won't seem to eject. It makes a lot of clicks and taps when the eject button is pushed. I tryed to pry it out but i don't want to mess it up. Any ideas????

both forward and reverse together is eject, correct? I think thats how i remember it, its been forever since I used the thing.
