Default Chipping the 01

My wife and I own an '01 roadster 225Q and are interested in chipping it in the near future. There are both APR and REVO dealers in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Does anyone have any experience with these guys?

Also, APR apparently can't Direct Port tune the '01 engine. Can REVO? We really don't want to have the chip taken apart - for warranty purposes.

Well despite the lack of replies we went ahead and got a REVO chip from Instook Motorsport Services in Fort Worth. For anyone that may be interested, they can in fact chip an '01 through the OBD port - no ECU removal at all (unlike APR and GIAC)... took about 20 minutes. Don's shop may not look like much from the outside, but he and his service are great. He races an S4 but mostly deals with Porsche at his shop.

We also bought the SPS 2 and are able to set stock, 91, 93 and 100 octane settings plus an anti-theft mode - which is very cool. The chip is VERY aggressive in the 3.3 -5.5k band. It's definately a change from stock - and incredibly fun to drive...although gas mileage suffers a bit with a lead foot.

So FWIW, we absolutely recommend Don Instook and his shop to anyone in the DFW area.

Thats excellent. I've been wanting to chip my 01 TT as well and I do live in the DFW area. I like the idea of not removing the ECU to perform te upgrade. Do you know if they have a website? What are you plans for your TT?

Unfortunately Istook (not Instook as I wrote earlier) Motorsports does not have a website. I talked to him on the phone a couple times and decided to take advantage of the Revo holiday sale. Don answered all my questions and I felt very comfortable with using his shop/services just from the conversations. Highly recommended.

We have the Revo chip and BBS CH wheels so far. Although I haven't had problems with my stock DV yet, I plan on replacing that next, then probably an intake and exhaust. I want to lower and put a sport suspension on it at some point too. But too much to do, too little time and $$.

Where do you go for your Audi service? We got our car from Boardwalk in Plano last year and they have been awesome. There is definately a reason they have been #1 in the States for Audi Service the last several years.
