I have a 180TTQ and have decided to go with the APR 91 oct chip. (Harder than hell to find 93 oct. gas where i live). Was just wondering if there are any risks with doing this (i have no factory war. on the car)? It is a daily driver. Will it cause the ecu to throw codes or cause any of the internals to wear/break easier?

 

the only thing you will have problems with is keeping of the gas. The ecu, engine, and turbo can all more than handle the slight strain of a chip as if it was stock

 

APR is one of the mildest tunes for the TT, I have APR's 93 tune on mine and have had no issues. It is important to have a boost gauge when chipped to monitor levels and detect leaks, other than that just perform the regularly scheduled maintenance, that is the biggest thing you can do to keep your car running strong.
