yup go with a spec stage 2+ and billet steel flywheel and raise idle to 950-1000rpms. this will vary if you go with a Alum FW. they chatter a lot compared to the Steel.

ya me nate, erin and matt often use each others names...like bros.

while we're on clutches, what's the reasons for a clutch catastrophically failing? (basically replacing virtually the whole assembly)

I had to ride with someone for a bit so i left my car at work with a "friend" so he can get a bite to eat for lunch. I come back and the car's on the side of the road 2 miles from work. He said the car just started revving hing and finally it won't drive. He drives a ford ranger stick so I figured he knew his way around the clutch. I got it all fixed but never really know why my clutch would just crap out like that. The car's at ~61k miles when it happened. To this day, I don't know if I should kick his *** or the clutch just happen to go out on his shift. I drove to work fine that day, by the way.
Kick his A$$... Not doubt ! [8D]

yea mr black ur correct u can downshift w/o it but it isnt good i just up shift w/o the clutch
You can do it both ways without ruining the tranny. On that note upshifting is much easier to time right and theres gonna be less stress on the drivetrain if something goes wrong as opposed to downshifting. I use the clutch for 1-2 as its a longer throw and downshifts. You would be surprised how much time is lost using the clutch upshifting when a clutchless shift would have been a better option, this is really noticable on a track like VIR where on a 600 you shift often coming out of corners, the other bikes of the same kind as yours pull away and fast in the split second your clutch is slippin. To brake and downshift from 160mph on the back straight of the North course into the tight 45 mph turn at the end of it i use the clutch for obvious reasons. On the street in the upper gears no clutch for downshifts, just unload the tranny and theres 0 wear and tear. With cars, yes you can shift with no clutch. Just match the revs properly. You def shouldn't be able to go into a gear without the clutch with no grinding 3k revs 2 low for the gear.
