Considering a 2005 TT...advice needed
Hello all, I'm new to the forum and was wondering if I could get some advice.
I'm currently driving a 2004 Nissan 350Z. I bought the car by doing research, but obviously the research wasn't good enough. After 7,000 miles of normal highway driving, I discovered that the front end suspension is vitally flawed and caused abnormal tire feathering. The problem is bad enough that I have to switch the tires every 8K miles or so if I don't want to hear the incessive road noise.
That's why I'm here in this forum today! I fell in love with the TT after I found out that they're selling a V6 version of the car. It has enough horses to satisfy my craving for speed. The deal breaker for me was the AWD Quattro aspect of the car. Since I live in Colorado, I need a car that can handle in the winter. My Z is absolutely horrible in the snow.
So my question to you all was if there are any known flaws with the TT right now? I've heard that the TT suffers from electrical problems. Is there anything else I should be aware of? Thanks in advance!

That is almost exactly what happened to me about a month ago....I put a deposit on a 350Z and then decided against it because of tire feathering that I learned about through much investigating....go in the TSB site, Technical Service Bulletins with www.alldata.com.
Hi, I am new too. Itoo was considering a 350z, and also got a little concerned about the tire feathering issue. I mentioned it to the nisan sales guy and of course tried to change the subject. After driving both the TT and the Z, my choice was clear, TT all the way. I had no idea how much fun the TT is to drive! My dad has had a 2001 tt for about 4 years, I never drove it until 2 weeks ago. The z just wasn't as much fun imho. The fact that it is rear wheel doesn't help me either living in Chicago burbs. I always assumed the 4 cylinder TT engine would be weak in power, I've read many reviews that think so. In my opinion the little car pulls enough for fun and enjoyment, and of course there can always be mods down the road. Still haven't decided on a color yet, either black or moro. My local dealer offered me a $3000 below invoice price on a new '04 silver 225hp, just to get it off his lot. I've had 5 silver cars in a row but the price is certaintly temping. Know it is a matter of talking the rite numbers on a '05, and trade in value, which is always below what u would like. I look forward to posting my ?'s in the future and will keep the TT community posted on my choice.
I have been looking at a 2001 TT and I'm in love. You'll find the transition from a 350Z to a TT very easy -- nothing compares.
Over the last two months I have done some extensive research on the TT. I noted that the TT had some electrical problems. However, all the problems I read were for earlier models, in pariticlar the 2000. This may sound naive, but I am sure that these would have been fixed by the 2005 model. Besides, you will have a warranty. The cerified pre-owned 2001 has two years' worth!
I did a quick search for 2005 problems. Here's a link to a review site that states there have been no recalls thus far for the 2005 model: http://www.intellichoice.com/reports.../recalls/type/
I hope this helps.
