Default Convertible Window Sensor HELP!!

I have a 2001 Audi TT Roadster... The convertible light will blink sometimes causing the windows to stop short of rolling all the way up. I figured out after reading a few forums that the sensor for this is on the top of windshield on the drivers side. I bent the sensor back to the left and it worked again. I've done this several times and it always works, but this time the tab broke off! Now I'm screwed... Does anybody know the part number for this tab sensor? I can't even figure our the proper Audi name for it. Called the dealership and they either don't know or don't wanna tell me. They say I have to bring it in. I'd like to order the part and put it in myself. They'll probably charge me 500 bucks for something so little and stupid. A part number or exploded schematic would be AWESOME!

I just bought a 2003 TT convertible and have the same problem. I just found this. Read through the entire post for several suggested fixes.

Convertible Top "Sensor"?? - Fixya

I haven't tried it yet but also came across this thread so thought I would post it. I have no idea if it is going to help me or not.

Good luck

Well, I found an old angle bracket in the workshop that was about 3/32" thick. I cut a 3/8" square piece off of it, dabbed it with superglue, stuck it on the switch face and it works like a charm. Problem wasn't that the switch was bad, problem was that not enough contact was being made to it. The extra thickness of the angle bracket did the tirck.
