Default Cruise Control ('01 TT Quattro)

Another newbie question. Wife & I were cruising this weekend. Tried to set the cruise. Nothing! Tried again. More nothing. Any ideas?
Thanx

If you drive with your foot on the clutch all the time try moving it a slight tap to either clutch or brake will disengage the cruise or if your resting your foot on the pedal enough to slightly push it in the cruise wont set.

If thats not the problem check the fuse if you have an owners manual there is a layout in there that will show you which fuse it is

i had a similar problem when my brake switch went bad. i replaced the switch and haven't had a problem since. i don't know if it was related or just coincidence.

You gotta make sure the switch is in the center position... clicked to the right the CC is off.

Oh, and we dont have a CC light, do we? If we do I have NEVER seen it.. and i have even looked for it.

A bad MAF will also make the CC inoperative.

I also have an '01 quattro. My cruise control has quit about 4 times in the last 3 years. If I turn off the ignition and turn it back on, the cruise comes back on.

Audi Cruise Control is another example of German over engineering.
