Default custom 3" exhaust idea...

Alright guys, I am half expecting to get flamed for this but I cant seem to get my head over this idea. I have a Supersprint cat-back now, I am looking to def. get the 42DD down pipe but, heres my problem, I was thinking about taking my car and getting a custom 3" system made when i have a shop put on the downpipe, either that or put the dp on myself, and then take it in. none the less, I was wondering what you guys thought about making this system (from DP back) using no resinators, and using some burnt titanium tips, hoping there high quality, not sure if it would look cheap but i have a white TT and i was thinking TO MYSELF... until now that they may look good, heres the link...and there 4" tips...

I really want a full 3" system and dont exactally feel like spending the $2600 for the APR stuff. any feed back would be great, thanks guys... espically on the tips... dono if they would look dumb or not, also im getting the MATT carbon fiber OSIR rear diffuser piece too, just to throw it in for a better picture, thanks

I think you will be spending money and only getting more noise, little to no power. The ss exhaust is already 70mm isnt it? If so, that is more than enough for a stock turbo. If you want more noise, just eliminate the res on the ss exhaust.

that does sound good, im just looking for a little bit more sound and any extra power I can get... but how much more sound do you think I will be getting if i just cut out the resinator? im hoping that whould be enough with the DP. thanks

The dp alone will increase the sound a pretty good amount. If you run no cat, that will make it louder still. I would wait untill you have the dp installed before you go looking for more sound. If you end up taking of the res, you may end up getting some drone. Also, your not going to get any real power gain from removing the res or going to 3" from 2.75".

i have the 180 and bought a 3" dp custom made by a shop, real nicely done, and then had a muffler shop install a 3" downpipe back, no cat, no resonator and a magnaflow muffler to look like a 225... i think it was done great and looks great, and it doesnt sound bad at all i like how it sounds, it doesnt resonate at all
