Yesterday, when closing my door, the cuff of my jacket hooked the mirror **** and snapped it off!! I guess i'll have to slot the **** and the housing then glue in a flat shim to make it work again. This ever happend to anyone else?

A few of usengineers here thought of using a dremil to hollow out the switch stud that remains in the switch assembly to .062 x .060dpand glueing in a .060 X .150 stainless steel stud. then hollow out the **** .062 x .060dp and glueing the **** on. however, I'm going to use hydrofloric acid to etch the pin so that it becomes poriswhitch will make sure the pin grabs the glue so that it won't slip. To allow the left/center/right positins to be selected with thw ****. I'll let you know how it comes out.

my GTI had the same exact **** and it was broken off when i bought the car.

sadly i never looked into fixing it because i was dealing with all the OTHER things that were broken in that car.

i guess you could always get the full switch assembly and replace the whole thing??
