How come when my washer fluid is low, I get an icon that doesn't go away, but when my battery is dead, I get no warning! Anyway, my battery is dead. I need a new one. Any suggestions. One friend said something about an Optima with a red top. But another said that was waay more juice than I needed. It's an '02 Quattro stock. What do you guys think?

 

A red top is a very good battery and is for daily driven cars. Bosch also makes a replacement but it is more i believe than the optima.

 

I'm using a oddessey (925) lightweight battery, FWIW.

 

red top are nice batteries, are you doing anything that requires more amps, if not why not just keep it simple?

 

i bought the bosch for my car as a replacement. however, i noticed after i installed it, and was about to reconnect the cable to the post that is on the left side, the bosch battery is shorter than the stock battery. meaning, the cable wouldn't reach up and over the removable insulated plastic wall to attach to the post. so, i had to remove the plastic wall. it sucks because i want to keep my car stock....and now this plastic wall is sitting in my garage. anyone have any ideas?
