I'm heading to the garage tomorrow after work. Ill take some pics and ask my friend all that information. Im slowly learning about turbo cars. He also mentioned im going to need a external wastegate which he is willing to sell me also. The wastegate is manoth its about the same width and a little bigger height wise then a bagel. Ill get picture of both. He just totaled his RX-7 and got a new hamann m5. So im in the process of transferingevery thing from air/fuel guages to the turbo.

make sure he has a tial or turbosmart 38mm wastegate. if not, your going to have problems getting a manifold and should just buy a new wastegate.

ok thanks for the heads up. Ill post some pics most likly on Thursday. I just talked to him and he said that he has a tial wastegate and he was saying the housing is .60 but he was swamped so he could have been confused on the question because i was like no thats the trim and he started scattering words because he was talking to a customer also.

Just make sure the housing is a .63 or its gonna suck if its to small (.48) or to big (.82) and the the wastegate is 38mm. If thats what you have, than your good. It is a Garrett right?

I think you should install that turbo so i know if i want it or not..... [8D]

Still get ahold of arnold from pagparts for whatever you still need, it will save you tons of effort that way.

He has very fair pricing and can get you every last bolt and gasket you will need to install with what you have. He is far more flexible than other places that will just sell you kits or everything indiviually.

Ok so i was thinking, with this bigger turbo you said i wont hit peak boost till around 4500. When its building wont i just pretty much start at stock boost then just keep building from there. So would it really be that much of a boost loss in the lower RPM's? Also i know this isnt a civic forum but. I just finished putting the turbo on my civic yesterday and cant seem to find a map. People on the civic forums said to put it on the GSR map then drive it to get tune. To me this sounds like the most retarded thing to do as it could just boost and not stop because there is nothing to tell it anything. I have a .38 tial external waste gate and a .60 trim turbo on it. Im only planning to boost about 5psi to 10 at the most on this ant reqs?

You should start seeing some boost, maybe 5psi at 3000rpms and then working its way up then it would hit peak boost above 4k and throw you back into your seat.

Put the 5psi wastegate spring in and if you have araising ratefpr installed, you will get extra fuel in boost and you should be fine until you get tuned. Thats how many n/a cars run after installing a turbo and run low boost numbers.
