Default decat pipes

i am looking for direct replacement piping without cats, for off road use on my 01 TT 225Q, seen these on the UK TT forums, in fact seems theres a lot of goodies over there i would like, shipping would prolly kill you. at a minimum i want 409 stainless, no junk short lived mild steel!!!! coating helps little and inflates list price, from prior experience, unless free recoat, shipping and install + removal included, never happening in my life for sure.

Default no stainless no sale

for the price the 42DD should at least be 409 stainless, in pa i had headers with coatings, they peeled and rusted, the coating warranty means nothing as shipping and changing out the pipes costs$$$$ and your car sets undriveable, i want just the dual catted section without cats to easily bolt in and out, 304 stainless that i had on my 01 jetta stayed unrusted and easily removed for over 10 yrs, more cost but cheaper if you keep you car a while, to each his own!!

Default no coating here

thanks joe but as i said never had any luck with coated pipes in pa, unless its stainless underneath but than no coatings needed, stainless even retains heat like coated pipes, on my 01 vw first car other than chevy or olds, needed mpg driving on construction 100 miles one way 5 days weekly, i learned of the upgrades that could be done, 150 hp 162 tq new, sold with about 265 hp 285 tq, other than the FWD that was a great car, a quaife helped a lot though, when i started modifying torque steer was brutal, the techtonics tuning 304 stainless full system was flawless, just pulling apart slip joints to run catless when needed, i even hesitate at 409 stainless, its said to surface rust only, never ever any mild steel exhaust for me, the performance of stainless is worth it to me, if planning to sell soon than aluminized steel is ok except for the new owner.

A ceramic coating shouldn't have any problems tolerating weather conditions. the Ebay exhaust is 309 stainless I believe. I don't believe they make any 409 exhausts for the 225q.

thanks joe, is that a UK or USA site, would have a link or .com address, other people are happy with 42dd pipes, i wish them long lasting service, my coated headers never lasted, i keep cars a while 5-10 yrs, thats where stainless, especially 304 shines. i will do some searching maybe i will come to it
