Default diagnose my suspension!

have a thread up on audifreaks and decided to toss one up here.

arite so the squeeks and creaks are just annoying now. i mean i can turn up my stereo and avoid the situation but in and out of cabin it's a p.i.t.a.

i've swapped out and re-lubed my strut tower bushings/bearings and both FSB bushings w/ OEMs. FSB problem?

also the rears have been joining on the fun. i'm running V-Maxx coilovers w/ the rear perches out and precision_TT's adjustable control arms. i've also re-lubed and adjusted the boots on the control arms.

you can hear it pretty clearly on my exhaust clip

start of vid (0:06 - 0:08) here:

first thing to come to mind is the removed perches. Is the spring binding on the trailing arm?

For the front, hard to say w/o hearing it in person. Does it make noise when you turn the wheel from lock to lock, or is it something you hear going straight? Make any difference if its rainy/wet out?

^ just going straight. usually on a slow creep... as the car rattles up and down from the vmaxx suspension it makes a similiar but more creakier noise.

but you know what for the rears, i'm starting think it mind be a spring bind problem. no way to cure that really... unless i put the perches back in. in which i refuse. that or lithium grease the base/tops of the spring?

c'mon, that perch thing is what, 4mm thick?

If its straight line squeaks from the front, I'd focus all my attention on the sway bar. You said you replaced the bushings with OEM bushings... how'd those little plastic sleeve things look on the sway bar. Bet if they're cracked, thats your problem.

^ ya actually the plastic sleeves looked fine. hell even the original bushings looked fine. i re-greased em and it went away for a good couple hours than back to the same ol crackling business.

sigh. i guess i'll just deal with the noise.

Why'd you go with OEM bushings? Aftermarket would generally have you remove those plastic sleeves. What isn't there can't make noise.

Biggest noise problem I have is from my strut towers. Camber plate has 2 types of bearings in each plate, but you still have a weird sliding motion they make to compensate for caster. Hard as hell to keep them clean and greased. Of course, they're race plates, so not exactly designed for year round road use. Especially in the north east.

If you don't have the shock bolts torqued on the rear you'll get squeaking from the bushings.
