Help me diagnose this problem, please!
If you post a topic here we need basic info.
1. Year of car - 2006
2. Model of car - Audi A3 Sport
3. What engine & TIP or 6sp - 2.0T FSI 6speed
4. Miles 68000
5. FWD or Quattro - FWD
6. Any CELs or stored codes - Don't have access to a VAG-COM
When I press the gas in any gear, especially 3rd when the rpms get to about 3k I can hear a boost leak, I can mash the pedal to the floor and the car just falls flat. How can I tell if this is a diverter valve failure without pulling it? Is there any other thing that could cause the engine to not take the boost an the diverter valve to vent the excess pressure? The engine light is on but I don't have access to a Vag-Com. Power is seriously down. When the boost is leaking it sounds like a whistle until I let off the gas then it stops. I don't know if the G diverter valves come on the 06's stock or if I have the D valve.
I appreciate any help. I did a search to find other posts but everyone describes a different sound like a ticking or "card in a bicycle spokes" sound.
