Default Engine check light on!!!

I just had the engine check light on yesterday on my TT!

I had the dealer check it out, and they said it was because of the O2 sensor and the catalyst. I think it's not a big problem, but it just bothers me to see a yellow light that says ENGINE CHECK.

For those of you who replaced the intake, or exhaust, did you have the engine check light turn on?

It's not just common, it's expected.

Mine is on so often, I would think something was wrong if my CEL was off. I'm ready to get into the instrument cluster and "modify" the light.

If you have modified the DP or exhaust in any way the CEL is expected. Common fix is to space the o2 sensor out from the exhaust stream with a spacer block and then reset the CEL. This will trick the o2 sensor/ecu into reading normal levels and then no cel's will be thrown.

I did it before too... Don't just remove the light, put a low ohm resistor in it's place. It'll be exactly the same then, minus the lighting.

If I didn't put the resistor in when I did it to my last car, my cruse didnt work for some reason.

This is coming from a electrical engineer.

Now that I think about it, it was the abs light. Thats why the cruse didnt work.
