I did it before too... Don't just remove the light, put a low ohm resistor in it's place. It'll be exactly the same then, minus the lighting.

If I didn't put the resistor in when I did it to my last car, my cruse didnt work for some reason.

This is coming from a electrical engineer.
Please explain what a low ohm resistor is, and where I can get one. This is obviously coming from a non-electrical engineer.

A resistor will use the same amount of power as your light, tricking the system into thinking the light is still there. As far as what ohm resistor to go with, I'm not really sure, depends on how much power the light draws. You should be able to pick them up at any local radio shack/electronics shop. Good luck!
