DO NOT REPLACE THE GASKET, just clean and reconnect the parts. The stock gaskets blow all the time and it takes way to much effort to replace a $5 part. W/o them you wont have a place for possible leak if both are good flanges and i know that the turbo will be and since its a 42dd pipe, it will be also. Hell, you dont even have to remove the pipe, just loosen it and pull out the gasket and then tighten it back up.

You can choose to run with no gaskets as stated but I choose to run with one. I feel it seals better than a flange to flange connection and that's why they are there. I think its a matter of opinion. My gaskets where blowing due to the hardware coming lose. After blowing the 2nd one I replace the hardware...no trouble since. I have been running issue free for the last year ever since. If you are already in there replacing hardware it takes anther minute to install the new gasket.... Your choice.

why are ya saying hardware? ya mean gasket? or gasket and nuts and bolts?

^ Hardware = Bolts and nuts. He stated earlier that the flanges loosened more than once so he replaced the hardware.

so i bought the 3" collecter gasket from AZ...it came with 6 bolts 6 nuts and 2 steel gaskets supposed to be better than the felt ones...anyone ever use em?

so i found the leak..it was the gasket not at the turbo but the section right after like you guys said...i removed the blown gasket and bolted flange back together with the same nuts and bolts...2/3 nuts tightened good..the 3rd nut i think i cannot reuse again because it would not tighten well at all...nut looks like hole is oblong, maybe because it is locking and cant be reused...
