Extended Warranty
I am very glad I purchased the extended warranty for my car. The factory warranty ended in January so I purchased an additional 60k.
So far, nothing has gone wrong with my baby - she runs like a champ. *knock on wood*
I have yet to mod my vehicle but recently have thought of doing some stuff. What I don't want to run into, is if I get some sort of mod and say something happens. I've heard of stealerships saying that for instance, the CAI caused the problem... when in fact, it has no relation to whatever the problem may be.
Do any of you have experience with this? What type of mods could I get away with; if any?
I own a 2003 225 and she's got 39,750k on it.

I'm assuming you have the warranty from Audi. It largely depends upon the dealer as unfortunately its not universal. Some dealers are very cool and will fix anything under warranty provided it is not DIRECTLY related such as damaging yout valvetrain after installing a camshaft for example. The only part that can be directly affectedby a CAI that I can think of is the MAF sensor if it gets too much oil on it from a K&N. Other dealers will not fix anything and will blame your broken timing belt on your exhaust system. It all depends as the dealers are not actually owned by Audi but by individual people. My personal advice is to go to the service department at the dealer and asked them what will be covered as they all have their own individual interpretations. The service manager at Dean McCrary Audi in Mobile, AL fixed myleaking radiatoreven though my car is under warranty and modified. He told me he didn't care if the car was modified provided it was only lightly modified (no GT32 ball bearing tubos or anything extreme) and with high quality parts from respected tuners like APR, Greddy, GIAC, etc... and the individual part did not cause the problem.but that isonly one dealer. Also, they gave me a a brand new Porsche Cayman S as my loaner for the day which was pretty damn cool.

Thanks for your reply. I called my dealer and they said that they'll fix any problems through out my extended warranty term. That made me feel a whole lot better. It's a privately owned VW dealership.
I too have a extended warrenty and the dealership that works on my TT says that they are willing to work on anything no matter the mods that I put on it so that is good. For example they installed my clutch, and they worked on my exhaust for me too. They are a Nissan dealership but their head mechaninc worked on VW and Audi for like 25+ years so I am comfortable with having him work on the TT.
