my 1999 audi a4 1.9tdi temp gauge needle keeps fluctuating and the heaters not that warm could anybody help pls

 

I'm having the same problem with my 2000 TT. Also, the fuel gauge is playing up. Does anyone know the degree of difficulty in replacing the whole instrument panel?

 

My Audi dealer told me $1,200 to replace panel. They have to do the repair since it involves the odometer.

 

I had the same issue a few years ago. It is very easy to remove. I sent it off to the following repair facility BBA reman. ABS, ecu's, throttle bodies, air mass meters, MFD and catalytic converters and they returnd it to me after one day. I believe the price was $250.00. It is still funtioning perfectly after years. As I recall, you remove a few screws on the left side of the instrument panel under the fuse cover and it comes out easily, be careful of the wires.
