Default First Gear Issues

With the car off: I will hold the clutch peddle down and try putting the shifter into first and it wont go.. Then when i cut the car as well it does the same thing...I tried down shifting while i was driving to see if it would go into 1st but it stilll wouldnt... Usually when this happens i left the hood and my air intake might have came off and feel down where that shifter under the hood is at and is in the way. But this time it isnt it.

your thread is very hard to understand, please edit it to make more clear sense or proof read before posting.

I would start with disconnecting your airbox and have a friend shift while you look at the top of the transmission.

if your lever isnt turning double check the linkage cables for any obstructions, check shifter case as well.

if there good, disconnect the cables from shift bracket and see if you can go to first.

if you can go to first its something to do with the transmission, could be multiple but certainly expensive things

These cars NEVER want to go back into first when moving and do have issues even at a stop. At a stop you just need to undo and reengage the clutch and it should go in.

I don't remember how many decades ago I ran into issues like this, and since then I habitually shift into second (even if I don't engage the clutch) before selecting first. Problem solved. That said, if you're trying to select first when moving at pretty much any speed above say five or six miles per hour, then even shifting into second before trying to hit first won't help you as the syncros will most likely push back a bit.
