First Time CEL
3 months/3K miles is just marketing to get you to buy more oil.
Point is, oil and filter aren't gonna get rid of your code. Your code could be MAF related, or O2 sensor related, or EVAP related. YOU NEED TO GET YOUR CAR SCANNED and go from there. Its free, and it will tell you whats wrong, why would you dick around with other things first when you could have had your answer by now.
BTW, mid-stick isn't low, its in the normal range.

If you are not sure if your interval to change your oil is too long or too short... get it tested next oil change. I send mine in for analysis to Blackstone Laboratories. You will get back a report of what condition your oil is, what metals are present, and if you are getting coolant into it. For $22.50 it is pretty safe insurance. You can go onto their website and order the test kit free. Next time you change the oil capture a sample and send it in. You get your results in about 2 weeks.
Well there are clearly three opinions regarding who knows more about your car.....
1. Read and follow the manual, with a grain of salt. That one is my approach, as I change at 6K, not at 10K as recommended by the manual.
2. Let the oil manufacturer decide: "Ill go by what the oil product says over a car manual". Your beief follows that the Mobile Oil Corporation (or any/all other oil producers?) know more about your car then the Audi design team that engineered the vehicle. Of course, given the CEL's and some other quirks....this may be a well founded diversion from logic
3. Feel the difference with new clean oil: "I actually change my oil every 4k. It may be a little bit premature in the eyes of anyone else, but the car doesnt lie. It runs better with newer, cleaner oil". It is a gift I wish I possessed, to be able to sense that a car runs better on a 4K change vs the author's 5K change interval, or my 6K change interval.

IMO.. The oil products want u to keep the oil as fresh as possible and the manual wants you to push the limits to possibly harm something els. Could Audi be crooks like that... Doubtful. But you never know
Got code after oil change. Light still on
P0171 = Fuel Trim , Bank1 System Too Lean.
So ....MAF needs cleaning? I thought i saw a step by step on that some where but can't find the link.
I haven't notice much performance drop in recent months , but gas mileage has slipped from 28 mpg down to about 25.
Any other suggestions?

The MAF is easy to clean. Just pull remove it from the air cleaner and spray it with CRC MAF cleaner. Let dry and reinstall.
"All vehicles have an optimum operating temperature, and the colder it is, the longer it takes to get there. While modern engines make very efficient use of the fuel mixture entering the engine, they rely upon the oxygen sensor to monitor the O2 content of the exhaust, as well as sensors for manifold pressure, mass air flow, throttle position, and coolant temperature, among others. All of this information is communicated to the vehicle’s computer that continually adjusts ignition and valve timing as well as fuel injector pulse width, to fine tune the amount of fuel delivered to each cylinder. This is done many times per second. But here’s the caveat—this engine-management system is only at tip-top efficiency when the engine is at full operating temperature. And when the mercury’s showing low, all vehicles require longer periods of time to reach that full operating temperature—and it’s in that warm-up period that efficiency is lost."

I put in K&N Filter about 3k ago , seems this is typical problem? Oil fowling sensor?
Also , should I expect CEL to go off if cleaning was successful?
I've heard of this being reset.
