A few weeks ago I had to get my driver's window switches replaced (lame) and the shop says they recommend that I get my front strut bearings replaced. Has anybody done this? Any idea of what this might set me back? I can hear kind of a creaking noise when accelerating or braking hard so clearly something needs to be done, I'd just like to get a feeling for the cost.

it's not that bad of an install.

 

VERY easy if you have an upgraded suspension. PITA on stock springs/struts as you need to compress the springs:
