Default gaping wound in breather hose....

my three way breather hose that sits on top of the valve cover has a hole in it about the size of a quarter. it doesn't look like a tear or rip but more like it was melted through with the tip of a fat cigar. does anyone know if this is a common occurrence or something i should be worried about.

this hose:

its part of your pcv system. If you dont fix it, you will have oil all over your engine bay and soon lose performance. The best alternative i have seen is using the hardpipe that comes in a ATC and AWD (both 2000 cars) instead.

Recently had to replace a hose in that SAI cluster due to a large hole. Hose cost $56.00. All the more reason to eliminate that whole mess.
