some things are fixable, others are not. Think you can fix gas and coolent issues, but the lcd part is where many people have problems

Glad to see that we are all getting along now...yes my TT is very reliable. If you take the right steps and take care of your car and motor it will run along time. A little bit of preventive maint. goes along ways.

My TT, Actully got Herpes. - It was expensive as hell to get it taken care of. - It has to take 2 pills daily for the rest of its life.

So sad. - When I see bumps on its bumper, I cant open the hatch or it will spread to my hands.

General problems:

Cluster (LCD losing pixels.)
Cluster (Gauges reading wrong.. fuel and temp pretty common.)
Timing Belt (Change at 60k along w/ other parts.)
Water Impellar (This is part of the timing belt thing. The impellar is plastic and breaks apart.)
Temp Sensor (The black top ones go bad, if it has a green or blue top you're fine.)
Vac Hoses (Break down. Especially the ones that are covered in fabric.)
Turn Signals (Sparadic blinking, or no blinking at all. This is the hazard relay or signal stalk.)
Rattles (EVERYWHERE.. especially cold days. Inside doors, at rear hatch. etc.)
HID/Xenon (Ignitors go bad, can be found on ebay.)
Overheating (Can be fuses bad, fan control module bad, temp sensor.)
MAF (Fails often due to K&N oiled filters or just old. Cleaning or buying new fixes.)
CD Changer (Seen more and more of these going bad.)
Glovebox (Handle pulls off, some are fixable, others need new glovebox.)
Window (Auto up down acts up. needs reset.)
Mirror switch (Snaps off. need new part.)
Door Latch Sensor (Goes bad. some are fixable. others new part completely.)
