Yes I had lot“s of problems to get those 230“s whp, most of it was because of BAD SHTY SOFTWARE from a "custom tunner" who didn“t knew how to tune his radio!... So I took my own brain and made it work... got back to my APR software, then upgraded to k04 sw, and tweak with v-tune and lemiwinks, doing some logs, and voila!!!... by the way I got rid of the intake snake design from ATP and did my own intake with a 90° elbow and direct fitment to the OEM intake compresor hose... that solved the big lag 4,500 rpms and low 15psi... now 3,800rpms and 20psi ( in testings I reached 28psi once :s)
Now my last mod wich gave me another great change was a 3" CAI and APR compresor hose. I“ll dyno it again, but I“m sure that I got above 240whp and 310wtq... let“s see!!

greetings!

You got any pics of that intake or more details on how you did it. My car is running pretty damn good now but I think it would do better if I could get a bigger intake. I dont see how you can get 260 whp with stock turbo like that one guy said cuz I have a lot of mods and when I had the K03 I was way short. I guess I would have to see to believe. But I think 230 whp on a FWD is pretty good, but if I had to do it again I would probably go with the K04 or GTRS. The GT2X just wasnt a well built turbo but maybe soon when more tuners have better software it will do better.

Water/meth injection is a great tuning tool. When you add that to 26 or so psi and a good amount of timimg plus 100+oct of gas you get a huge amount of power. The power doesnt stay at this level so long but it is a peak number. I have posted the dyno on here once or twice.

Yes, water/meth + timing advance + more boost + race gas= crazy power andsuperior knock control.

Timing advance means you further increaseingition timebefore TDC (top dead center). By advancing timing you can gain more power w/o increasing heat (like boost). If you have a vagcom you can graph you cars timing pull to see if you can increase it w/ lemmingwinks. When you increase octane by either by adding race gas or artificually by water/meth you can increase the timing because your car wont pull timing because you are far from knocking. So you can than add a few degrees of timing and make some solid hp. Youthen justkeep addingtiming until your car pulls more timing then you had before.

sounds good thanks. I have the vag-com so I will have to check that soon and see whats up. More hp less heat sounds good to me.

this should be the way you can maximize the potential of the gt2x turbo. by adding a water/meth kit you should be able to get very close to the 270-280whp mark.

Snow Performance makes a really good MAF or MAP kit for turbocharged kits. They say that for every degree of timing advance is about 4hp. The guys on vortex have been able to run about 6degrees of timing advance on the 1.8tfor about 24hp, then add a couple of psi of boost on top of that, with 93oct gas, and you should be set for a good 30-40 more horses. The water injection can be set to spray eitherwhen acertain psi is reached or when a certainvoltage is reached via the MAF.Check it out,it really has been aroung for a coupleof decades.
