Holyshit am I pissed. new clutch? ...hmm not so much...
whatever you do DO NOT PAY THE AUTO SHOP. If you pay them and find out its their fault it will be harder than if they are not at fault. See what audi says and have them document what they did so you have proof to show the shop. If the shop is at fault and you have the documents to prove it they should either not charge you anything or maybeeven pay for the dealer fees.

ecs now sells the USB vag-com cable so you can save tons of money. 130 instead of 250 100-for the license and 30-cable. i dont have the license yet but just the shareware version works for the most part.

Says, " So far we've noticed that the battery cables were hooked up backwards (pos/neg).

Audi said that they are going to go through the car to make sure that nothing was damanged. (Very possible) Anyways I wont let that guy touch my TT again. It it comes down to nothing is damanged im going to still pay him...but im going to deduct the cost of the trip to the dealer.
I'm just disappointed that its something of that nature...something so basic....hell...I'm not even a mechanic and I wouldn't have gotten that wrong....(Hopefully)

i figured it was something to do with the battery pos and neg LOL haha yeah all the wires from the starter go on the left battery post + pos and the neg is on the right (ground) - he must have put the battery in backwards wonder if the starter is fried?
I just talked to the Audi Dealer,
They said that the backwards config did not damange the car, atleast at the point they see. They are charging me $190.87 in labor. I'm going to request the previous shop pay the bill because it is 100% install issue by the mechanic.
What do you guys think?

What did they say about the pedal feel on the clutch?
Its REALLY hard to screw up a FWD clutch job in the physical installation of the disks and plates. So I wouldnt worry too much about that. Its almost definitely a hydraulic issue, but it still needs to be addressed. If its not taken care of you could be crewing up your break in, and prematurely wearing the friction surfaces.

We'll I got going, drives perfect... the guy did a REALLY good job, just fucked up on the battery.
he said he would cover the cost of the repair (deducting it from my bill)
So after audi and him I paid : $268 including tax to have my clutch and starter replaced (labor)
not to shabby.
