Default How difficult is it to change the mass air meter

Can someone tell me how long it takes to change a mass air meter or level of difficulty thats involved. The dealership said I need to replace mine but they want to charge me $500! Which seems high.....?

Can I do this myself?

any feedback would be greatly appreciated as my car is still at the dealership and they are waiting to hear back from me on whether or not I want them to do the work..

Thank You

if you have a screwdriver and some sockets, its rather easy. Just remove the top of the airbox like you are changing the filter and then unbolt the maf from the box and unclamp it from the intake. Pull the connector and do the reverse to install the new one.

Also, get it from either ecstuning or mjmautohaus.com, both have them for much cheaper than the dealer. If the maf is really bad, just run with it unplugged until you get the new one in
