how hard is it to remove the crossover bar?
i think its called the crossover bar, the black bar underneath the oil filter? im trying to do my secondary air pump this wk but i dont have any power tools but just regular tools so im wondering how hard is it to remove?
I wish one of you guys would actually bring proof as to why its so important. If they were that important, a MKIV would have something there also. All those that have removed it have noticed no change, nor would you in a crash.
serves no structural purpose if you take the twin coolers out.
No question! Senseless to keep it and less weight! on the 225. Now on the 180, I have no idea if they have the twin coolers.
Then I assume it is needed unless you delete the twin coolers.

If it were not needed, why did Audi mount it on the 180's, which do NOT need it for any IC purpose? You think they created the parts and paid the money for them, and the labor to put them on, because they felt like weighing down the front of the front heavy car?!
Where's your proof it is NOT needed? The burden of proof is to prove why it is OK to take it out, now why it should be left in...

Go and look where its mounted and how the pipe is built. Plus, as i have said many a times, if they were THAT important, the MKIV would have one or something similar. No one is telling you to take it off, mines not even within 600 miles of me nor do i care. Its probably still sitting next to my rear counterweight that i also choose not to run. Since neither improve or hinder my situation, ill take the loss of 40lbs and improve my acceleration and mpg
