I am at wits end. How do I know if my 2ndary air pump is bad??? I am going nuts.
Long story short (sorta) - This IS just driving me nuts, because I havent had a solid car since I bought it a month and a half ago...
I was rear ended (yeah after I owned the car 3 weeks). Got my car back from the body shop (after 3 weeks). They put it on a unibody machine, did some exhaust work, and baked it to cure paint.
I Drove it to work (~25miles) yesterday and on the way home I tripped a CEL - P1137 System Rich, P1297 Pressure Drop check DV! (DV tested and works). I also drove it after the accident for about a week ~120 miles - NO CEL.
I thought I had a slight vaccum leak that was mildly affecting my boost before the accident, because it sounded like when I pressure tested the car, I could hear air coming out of the SMIC or around that area when i filled the system to 7-8PSI. I guess some air loss is normal though. I just need to know where it is *supposed* to come out of.
My car feels like it sputters when I lay the pedal to the floor after 3.5k RPM. Its almost like it is gasping for air. You can feel the car hesitate and it feels jerky when the boost kicks in or when it loses boost. It almost feels like I am repeatedly pushing the pedal to the floor and releasing it.
I stumbled onto another thread and someone hinted that they had the two codes I tossed and that the secondary air pump is bad.
My MAF is good - I just replaced it prior to accident and it got rid of a CEL (unless baking my car toasted my MAF...)
I am likely taking it back to the body shop to a pro to have it look at it, but I don't want to get sold parts I do not need. Its ironic that there was no CEL prior to repair work, and a CEL after the work. They said if it isnt collision related, I have to pay out of my pocket.
Ideas?
