it was actually after my coilover install, the front drivers side wheel was skipped when everything was retorqued... and so yeh if your lug nuts are not tight enough, they will eventually come out

 

so the vibrations at highway speeds wasnt a clue?

 

Or just make a horrible noise making you think the drive train is screwed...

haha actually I only got vibrations about 300ft from where it fell off at, I was slowing down to pull over when it just went CLUNK and the car burried into the asphalt. fortunatly the only part of the car that touched the road was the control arm bolts which were ground down to almost nothing, the tranny and brake rotor were literally just mm off the ground

 

Did the same thing in my 95 Jetta after putting on new rims, dont feel bad I know what its like to watch your wheel hit the back bumper of the guy in front of you at the stoplight. Sucks getting towed though lol...

 

So will insurance cover that?? Or was it the dealers fault??

 

he installed the coilovers. comprehensive coverage should cover it.

 

my insurance is covering it, all $1100 of it ... it was a stupid mistake but an easy one to make when your talking and trying to put your car back together at the same time
