If ecu swap immobilizes, will switching back fix?

If ecu swap immobilizes, will switching back fix?
Dont have a vag-com, want to swap ecu's friday/saturday (both same model #), not sure if I have immobilizer (01 225r). If I havdohave it,will beimmobilized, I dont mind that if putting back the original wil fix things. Ideas?
