I'm getting 16 mpg! AARGH! Does that seem right?

But more likely just a bad O2 sensor or MAF, both of which if faulty will result in bad mileage.

Default Trip seems fine.

I don't know about the lcd. When I fill up the tank it tells me I have like 495 miles. Then I run out of gas at around 220.

That is bad. my 225t is stock other than cold air intake. When I fill up the tank it also says anywhere from 495 to 565 (B.S. I tell you, lol). But my average is 400 (minimum) to around 445 (maximum).

Have you actually ran out of gas and on the side of the road after 220 , or did you just fill it up again ??? If in fact you filled up and actually put"what is it" 12 gallons in the tank.....then theres a definite prob. somewhere, or it could be the sensor in the tank malfunctioning and telling you theres no gas....when there is.

Talking Yep! I completely ran out of gas.

Then I put 13.975 gallons in. I did the Throttle Body Alignment that was suggested earlier and am already seeing an improvement though.

Default Gas Mileage

It could be a bad MAF which does control the Air/Fuel Mix. The throttlebody alignment helps but not all that much. Check your plugs and make sure they are not fouling. Make sure they are gapped properly .028 for chipped cars.
You should be getting about 25-26 average mpg. At least that is what I am getting in my last 2 TT's and on my trip to TT East this year I was getting 33.9mpg on the highway cruising between 75-85mph.
Are you sure you don't have a Hummer engine under that hood ?
