I'm getting 16 mpg! AARGH! Does that seem right?

+1 for maf. I just cleaned mine, and within the first 100 miles am seeing another ~1.3mpg. It seems small, but a number of small gains are definitely worthwhile. I have to do the IAT sensor next.

Default So, as I'm not all that car savy but learning,

Is a MAF(what is that an acronym for anyway?) something I can purchase and replace easily on my own?

Thanks

easier even than the DV, but the FAQ thread addresses the acronyms and their indicated parts function, problems, etc

you ruined my fun/lesson :-) PS, that extra mpg I was seeing, I hadnt reset my readout through the little button on the stalk, now that I have, and at least on the way back home from work today (admittedly only like 12 miles) it said the average was up to 28mpg, I would be psyched if that turned out to be accurate in the long run.

I have the same problem in the morning and even worse on the way home.
Lot's of construction, accidents, cops. ARGHH.. It takes me 45 to an hour to get home and it's only 16 miles one way.

Still manage to squeeze out 25-26 mpg average on my little TT with the AC blastin'
